AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 1985 FORD LN 8000 W/LMT FOLDING CRANE

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro Street Department needs to purchase the following:
1985 FORD LN 8000 WITH LMT FOLDING CRANE, SN 1FDYW80U7FVA43437
SECTION 2: That said equipment may be purchased from Shoaf Motor Sales, 2261 Airways Blvd. Memphis, TN 38114 for the sum of Eleven Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($11,750).
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2) (b) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described equipment for the price set forth in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the Street Department Surplus Fund.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire this equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
