AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN UNIMPROVED PORTION OF NORTH CHURCH STREET

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:     
 
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the streets designated as follows with the exceptions listed in SECTION 2:
 
The unimproved portion of North Church Street described as beginning at the Northwest Corner of Lot 1, Block 1 of the Meyers Addition; thence South 110 feet of the Southwest Corner of Lot 1, thence West 35.4 feet, thence South 248 feet, thence West 35.38 feet of the Southeast Corner of lot 3 of the Northwestern Addition, thence North 125 feet to the Northeast Corner of Lot 4 of the Northwestern Addition; thence East to the point of beginning.
 
SECTION 2: A copy of the Ordinance certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the recorder of Craighead County, Arkansas and shall be filed in the deed records of such office.
 
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds and declares that the above streets and portions of streets are not necessary for the general benefit and welfare of the public; that the owners of all the property abutting the above streets are in favor of the closure and vacation of the above street and that therefore an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED the 19th day of September 1994.
