ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3506 KNOWN AS THE 2005 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has previously established the 2005 city budget through Ordinance No. 3506; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, now desires to amend the provisions of Ordinance No. 3506 to include the 2004 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (for the purchase of automatic external defibrillators, portable radios and commercial grade backup generators for each fire station).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 3506 is amended in accordance with the following:
That the sum of $223,000 is added to the 2005 Federal Grants Fund Expenditures for the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant and the sum of $156,100 (the grant award) is added to the 2005 Federal Grants Fund Revenue as Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The sum of $66,900 is to be transferred from the Unappropirated Sales Tax Fund to the Federal Grants Revenue as the local match.
SECTION 2: If any provision of this ordinance is determined to be unlawful or unconstitutional, said illegality or unconstitutionality shall be applied to only the provision(s) so determined and the remainder of said ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3: It is necessary that the finances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas be efficiently administered and accounted for and whereas this ordinance is necessary for the proper establishment of the transfer of appropriations, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
