RESOLUTION FOR INTERIM BORROWING

WHEREAS, citizens of Jonesboro have, by their vote, directed the City Council to finance the construction of a factory building to be leased to Hytrol Company, Inc., and the City Council has heretofore adopted ordinances and performed to other acts required by law preliminary to an issuance of Act 9 Bonds, which bounds have been sold; and
WHEREAS, the said bonds are being printed but have not yet been delivered, and materials have been received and a part of the work of construction performed, and a partial payment is due to the contractor; and
WHEREAS, banks of Jonesboro have agreed to advance the necessary funds awaiting the printing of bonds.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and they are hereby, directed to borrow from the Mercantile Bank and Citizens Bank, or either of them, by execution of Certificates of Indebtedness, due on demand or within sixty (60) days, at the same rate of interest the bonds shall bear, to obtain funds to pay the contractor’s application for progress payments when the same shall have been approved by officers of Hytrol Company, Inc, and to pledge, as security for such certificates, the proceeds of the bond issue heretofore approved.
