AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of Zoning District Boundaries as follows:

 

From Industrial (I-2) to Industrial (I-1) of an area described as: Beginning at a point on the North right -of-way line of the Frisco Railroad at the intersection of the West property line of the property now occupies by Jonesboro Concrete Pipe Company; running along said Jonesboro Concrete Pipe Company; running along said Jonesboro Concrete Pipe Company’s West line in a Northerly direction to the South right-of-way line of Johnson Avenue; running thence Westerly along the South right-of-way line of Johnson Avenue to the East right-of-way line of Floyd Street; thence Southerly along aforesaid East right-of-way line of Floyd Street to aforesaid North right-of-way line; thence Easterly along North right-of-way line of Frisco Railroad to point of beginning bounded by Johnson Avenue on N: Floyd St. on W; Railway on S; D.D. on E.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described by in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of July, 1966.
