CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - APRIL 4, 1994
The Jonesboro City Council met at 6:00 p. m. due to the National Basketball Tournament. Present were the City Clerk, City Attorney, and all council members with the exception of Councilman Province, Councilman Wise and Councilwoman Ingram who were unable to attend. Vice Mayor Hannah presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Brodell who was away on official business.
The minutes of March 21, 1994, were approved as mailed by motion of Councilman Vance seconded by Councilman Perrin. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those voting aye were: Evans, Mullenix, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah.
Councilman Harpole read a proclamation (on behalf of Mayor Brodell) declaring April 5, 1994, "ASU Lady Indians Basketball Day" in Jonesboro. The team was runner-up for the National Women's Invitational Tournament championship.
The following ordinance was on the third reading:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND OTHER PURPOSES. (KENWARD/NOELL)
Councilman Vance moved, seconded by Councilman Harpole for the adoption of the ordinance. A roll call vote was taken resulting in all council members voting aye. Those voting aye were: Evans, Mullenix, Bowers, Perrin, Kelton, Vance, Harpole, Mays and Hannah. The ordinance was given the number 2544.
Due to the change in meeting time, the Council agreed to move items "B", "C" and "E" to the bottom of the agenda to allow concerned citizens time to arrive.
The following ordinance was on the second reading:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 2.20 ADDING SECTION 2.20.10 TO ESTABLISH PROCEDURES FOR BRINGING ORDINANCES BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL
