AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 670b JOHN DEERE CONVERSION, SERIAL NO.536079.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: That the Street Department needs to purchase the following:
670B (ROAD GRADER) JOHN DEERE CONVERSION, SERIAL NO. 536079
SECTION 2: That such equipment can be purchased from Barton Equipment Company located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the sum of Sixty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-Five Dollars ($68,585.00), which includes sales tax.
SECTION 3: That the City Council, in accord with the terms of A. C. A. 14-58-302(2)(b) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the Street Department’s fixed assets line item in the Street Department Budget.
