AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2008 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR PURCHASES OF REPLACEMENT VEHICLES FOR JETS

Body

WHEREAS, JETS previously had a 2006 Ford F450 cutaway 22 passenger bus has totaled; and

WHEREAS, Gallagher Bassett will pay Twenty-Four Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-Three Dollars ($24,583.00) for said loss; and

WHEREAS, additional sum of Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Eight dollars ($9,798.00) additional money is needed to purchase the replacement vehicle.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

1.                     That the JETS budget for 2008 should be and is hereby amended to appropriate the additional sum of Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Eight dollars ($9,798.00).  Said sum shall come from unallocated current funding of the JETS department.

2.                     The replacement vehicle, a 2008 Ford F450 cutaway 22 passenger shall be purchased under the state contract bid procedures.

3.                     There being an immediate need to acquire said replacement vehicle an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
