A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPLY FOR A GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO

Whereas, the Jonesboro City Council has determined that the city meets eligibility requirements necessary to apply for a grant under the ACE Energy Efficiency Grant Program; and
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro has presented plans to replace the heating and cooling systems in Fire Station #2 with energy efficient electric units; and
Whereas, the City Council of Jonesboro recognizes the need for the project, concurs its importance, and supports the efforts to proceed with the same; and
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro has appropriated $50,000 to be applied to the project as local match money requirement for the project described herein;
Now therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor of Jonesboro is hereby authorized to submit an application of formal request to the Arkansas Department of Economic Development for purposes of securing state grant funds in the amount of $6000.00 to aid and assist in executing the proposed project described herein and that the Mayor is further authorized to administer the grant funds for the same project.
