Whereas, the City of Jonesboro was awarded an Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) Demonstration grant to incorporate Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil-Integrated Bridge System (GRS-IBS) technology into the replacement of Bridge No. 19077 located between Brookhaven Road and Broadmoor Road on West College Avenue in the City of Jonesboro; and
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro understands federal-aid funds, up to a maximum of $303,600 are available for this project at the following ratio:

Whereas, the City budgeted a total of $379,500 for this project and the majority of the city's costs will be contributed through in-kind services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:
Section I: The City will participate in accordance with its designated responsibilities in this project and will provide 100% of any costs over the maximum available Federal-aid share ($303,600); and
Section II: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of this project; and
Section III: The City pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project.
