A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING THE CONTRACT FOR INSTALLING CROSS-WALK CONCRETE ON MAIN STREET AND INTERSECTING STREETS BETWEEN MATTHEWS AND CATE FROM COOPER CONSTRUCTION CO.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro advertised and received bids for the installation of concrete on Main Street and intersecting streets between Matthews and Cate on December 28, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the low bid of $64,805.00 was submitted by Cooper Construction Co.; and
WHEREAS, bids are within our Capital Improvement budget amount
WHEREAS, the Public Works Committee recommended on January 3, 2006, approval of awarding a contract to the low bidder for a contract of $64,805.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the City of Jonesboro accepts the low bid of $64,805.00 from Cooper Construction Co. for installing cross-walk concrete on Main Street and intersecting streets between Matthews and Cate.
SECTION 2: That the Mayor, Douglas Formon and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement, subject to contract to include provisions for one crosswalk being constructed as a trial and the contract being void if not accepted.
PASSED AND ACCEPTED THIS 16th DAY OF January, 2006.
