AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES AS TO A CERTAIN AREA ON EITHER SIDE OF HAVEN STREET BETWEEN NETTLETON AVENUE AND ELM STREET:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954, Article II, Section 1 known as the zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, be amended as heretofore recommended by the City Planning Commission by change of zoning district boundaries as follows:
From Residential (R-2) to Residential (R-1), the following lots situated on either side of Haven Street between Nettleton Avenue and Elm Street: Lot 31 of Knight’s Addition; Lots 1 to 10, inclusive, of Montague’s Subdivision of Knight’s Addition; Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 46 and Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 47 of Culberhouse Subdivision; Lot 32 of Knight’s Addition; Lots 1, 2,, 3 and 4 in Block 41 of Nelsons Subdivision of Knights Addition; Lots 3 and 4 of Claunch Subdivision of Block 48 of Knights Addition; Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of A.M. Claunch Subdivision of Block 48 of Knights Addition; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of A.M. Claunch Subdivision of Block 49 of Nelson’s Subdivision of Knights Addition.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed and impaired and the enjoyment of residences occupied by owners is being threatened because of improper zoning and that therefore an emergency exists and this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety and shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
