CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - February 3, 1997

1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.

2. Roll call by Clerk.

3. Approval of minutes from January 20, 1997 as provided.

Presentation by Mayor Brodell to the Jonesboro High School Golden Hurricane Marching Band and Mr. Steve Warner, Band Director for being selected to perform in the Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington D. C.

4. City Attorney:

(A) 3rd reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-1) located on the north side of Gant, west of Kitchen Street. (John T. Douglas)

(B) 1st reading - Ordinance to annex 99.475 acres located on the north side of Macedonia Road, with a portion of the property being on the south side of Macedonia Road, all of it east of Highway 351. (David Cossey and Mike Young.) M.A.P.C. Stipulations Included

(C) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3), located at 3107 Dan Ave. (William Massey)

(D) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone .93 acre from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3), located on the south side of Parker Road, west of Brown’s Lane. (Dennis & Kay Noell)

(E) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-2), located at 805 S. Madison Street. (W. Ray Nickle)

(F) 1st reading - Ordinance to amend Title Nine, known as “Streets and Sidewalks”, by amending curb and gutter requirements in the Street Improvement Program Standards Manual.

5. Resolution requesting City Water & Light to provide free services to 311 South Main, Unit A, a temporary Planning Office.

6. Review the following appointments:

· Steve Cox to Parks & Recreation Advisory Board with term to expire April of 2000.

· Tina Cook to Parks & Recreation Advisory Board with term to expire January of 2000.
