AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.  954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.  954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (RZ91-5) by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) the following described property:

 

A part of the west ½ of the SE 1/4 of Section 9, T14N,  R3E, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the southeast corner of the NW 1/4, SE 1/4 of Section 9, T14N, R3E; thence S0°13' E on the 40 acre line 1134.3' to the northerly right-of-way line of U.S.  Highway 63; thence with the meanderings with said right-of-way line as follows: N 47°36' W 212.40'; N 46°36' W 212.40'; N 46°11' W 496.8'; N 41°22' W 94.8 to the centerline of Harry Drive;   thence N0°58' W along said centerline 630.70'; thence N 89°02' E 584.53' to the 40 acre line; thence S0°13' E on the 40 acre line 64.50' to the point of beginning, containing 12.26 acres, more or less, subject to all rights- of-way and easements of record, also known as Lot 1 of Tate West Side Industrial Addition.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
