body

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:

1.                     From Residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as: Haltom’s Second Addition, Blocks A, J and K to the City of Jonesboro.

2.                     From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-5) of property described as: A part of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 25, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Southeast corner of the North Half of said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter; thence North on the 40 acre line 85.2 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North on the 40 acre line 435.8 feet to the Southerly right-of-way line of Arkansas Highway #39; thence South 43° 57’ West along said right-of-way line 211 feet; thence South 46° 03’ East 27.2 feet; thence South 11° 13’ West 93.2 feet; thence South 64° 48’ East 141.1 feet; thence South 11° 08’ East 111 feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.76 acres.

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
