RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE CRAIGHEAD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AUTHORITY TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT MODIFICATION TO CONTINUE THE OPERATION OF A CLASS I LANDFILL

WHEREAS:                     The Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal authority (CCSWDA) is applying for a permit modification for its Class 1 landfill located south of Jonesboro, Arkansas to continue disposal of municipal wastes, and

WHEREAS:                     No threat of pollution to the City of Jonesboro exists because of the disposal of Class 1 materials by the method requested in the permit modification application, and

WHEREAS:                     The City of Jonesboro has accepted the siting of the landfill and has no objection to the granting of a permit modification for Class 1 waste disposal by the CCSWDA.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas adopt this resolution allowing the CCSWDA to apply for a permit modification to continue operation of a Class 1 landfill.
