AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 8.44.14 OF THE DOWNTOWN PARKING TECHNICAL CODE ALLOWING FOR MORE NO TIME PARKING LOTS.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has determined that more no time limit parking is needed in the Downtown Improvement District; and

 

WHEREAS, the parking lot located at the southeast corner of Union and Huntington Avenue is designated as two (2) hour parking in section 8.44.14 of the Jonesboro Technical Code and would be suffice in location for more no time limit parking;

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:  the two (2) hour parking lot at the southeast corner of Union and Huntington Avenue be changed from two (2) hour parking limit to no time limit parking. 

 

SECTION 1:  That in the event any title, subtitle, section subsection, subdivision, paragraph, subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this ordinance

 

SECTION 2:  It is further found due to the immediate need to control the downtown improvement district parking an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of November, 2007.
