AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE PACKAGE AUTOMOBILES FROM THE STATE BID

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1:   The City Council finds and declares that there is a need to purchase 4 Police Unit Automobiles from the State contract immediately.

 

SECTION 2:   Said Police Automobiles may be purchased immediately from Cliff Peck Chevrolet, Little Rock, Arkansas for the sum of eleven thousand three hundred ninety six dollars and ninety-seven cents ($11,396.97). The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase said automobiles.

 

SECTION 3:   The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of said automobiles in necessary for the health and welfare of the Citizens of Jonesboro. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and due to said emergency, the Council waives the usual bidding requirements and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
