RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AUTHORIZES FILING OF AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF ARKANSAS FOR AN ARKANSAS COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT

WHEREAS, Jonesboro, Arkansas is applying to the State of Arkansas for an Arkansas Community and Economic Development grant; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that certain conditions be met as part of the application requirements; and
WHEREAS, Jonesboro, Arkansas has conducted two public hearings as part of the application process to receive and consider comments on community development and housing needs, and proposed activities; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the public hearings, Jonesboro, Arkansas has identified and prioritized the community development and housing needs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas that Neil J. Stallings, Mayor is authorized to submit an application to the State of Arkansas, on behalf of Jonesboro, Arkansas, to expend funds for the Morton and Mitchell Sewer Project.
BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City of Jonesboro, is proposing to annex the area of Morton, Mitchell, and Kathleen Streets into the City of Jonesboro and that the Mayor be authorized to proceed with annexation.
