V. OLD BUSINESS

Gibson stated the new flood maps are published and will become official by September 26, 2024. The Engineering Department is currently working on paperwork to ensure it is adopted in August.

Gibson stated the City will send out letters to those affected before the adoption date. Steiling ask how many structures have changes? Gibson stated the City is still working on the number.

VI. OTHER COMMUNICATION

Bevill introduced Karen McCurdy, Environmental Division Director, with Crafton Tull. She stated that she has been involved in stormwater work across the state and wanted to introduce herself since Crafton Tull recently opened a new office in Jonesboro. She presented information regarding a study that was done in Rogers, Arkansas.

A copy of the presentation is attached.

Coleman questioned the cost of getting the information discussed in the presentation. McCurdy stated surveying was the most expensive part of the study. Wyatt asks if the City of Rogers has a stormwater line item in the budget? McCurdy stated no. The current study was funded by a City Council appropriation. She stated that Rogers is looking at long-term funding, potentially a Stormwater Utility fee.

Coleman ask how often the model needs to be updated. McCurdy stated it is updated anytime new as-builts are submitted.

McCurdy thanked committee for allowing her to speak to them about her work with the City of Rogers.
