RESOLUTION TO TRADE PROPERTY LOCATED IN CRAIGHEAD COUNTY FOREST IN EXCHANGE FOR PROPERTY OWNED BY E.L. MCCARTY AND/OR HAROLD MANTOOTH

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns property commonly known as “Craighead County Forest” property and part of said property joins property owned by E. L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth and at the present time there is no road or access into the Craighead County Forest property area which joins E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth; and,
WHEREAS, E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth have proposed to trade with the City of Jonesboro two acres of their ground which abuts upon the road and would allow access into the Craighead County Forest property at this point for two acres of the Craighead County Forest property at no cost to the City of Jonesboro, and,
WHEREAS, E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth will bear all of the expenses connection with the exchange of this property including survey, preparation and recording of deeds and all other expenses connected with the change of the property.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the Council finds it to be to the benefit of the City and the citizens of Jonesboro to trade property in the amount of two acres owned by the City and known as part of the Craighead County Forest property for two acres of ground owned by E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to ascertain the proper descriptions of the ground to be conveyed to E. L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth and a proper description of the ground that E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth will convey to the City of Jonesboro in exchange and are further authorized and directed to execute the necessary deeds to make the transfer of said property and to receive property of E.L. McCarty and/or Harold Mantooth at no expense whatever to the City of Jonesboro and all subject to the approval of the Craighead County Forest Park Commission.
