ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE JONESBORO CODE OF ORDINANCES, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the following described land are currently zoned “AG-1” Agricultural:
LOT 1 OF HARMON KATHLEEN STREET MINOR PLAT OF A PART OF THE NORTH HALF OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH, RANGE 4 EAST, JONESBORO, ARKANSAS AS SHOWN BY PLAT CABINET “C” AT PAGE 102 IN THE OFFICE OF CRAIGHEAD COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT CLERK AND EX-OFFICIO RECORDER, CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Beginning in the southeast corner of aforesaid Lot 1; thence south 88º45’41” West 1055;02 feet; thence south 88º44’59” West 1286.29 feet; thence north 00º00’03” East 572.01 feet; thence with a curve turning to the right with arc length of 100.37’ with a radius of 181.88’, thence North 31º37’19” East 405.00 feet; thence South 65º25’00” East 2310.87 feet; to the point of beginning; having an area of 28.76 acres more or less and being subject to all public and private roads and easements.
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has recommended that said lands be rezoned to “R-6 LUO” Multi-Family Medium Density district with an accompanying limited use overlay district restricted to 10 units per acre; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that all applicable laws of the State of Arkansas and of the City of Jonesboro have been complied with in presenting this ordinance to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION I: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, codified as Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code, should be, and it hererby is amended so that the lands hereinabove described are zoned “R-6 LUO” Multi-Family High Density District as restricted by the limited use overlay district to 10 units per acre.
SECTION II: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herby repealed.
SECTION III: The City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the official zoning district boundary map of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, insofar as it relates to the lands described hereinabove so that the zoning classification of said lands shall be in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance.
