RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO PURSUE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CASEY SPRINGS ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT #3

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas has an appointed Committee to study the improvements needed for various roads throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the committee has made its findings and determinations and submitted these to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro and has determined that Casey Springs Road needs improvement for the benefit of the surrounding landowners and the public at large; and
WHEREAS, the Committee is recommending that the City Council pass an ordinance establishing a Street Improvement District for a portion of Casey Springs (J. Lyons) Road for the purpose of providing appropriate funding for the improvements of said road; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the needed improvements should be assessed against the landowners within the proposed improvement district and the landowners within the district should be allowed to pay the amount of assessments as determined by the Board of commissioners in one lump sum payment or in a manner established by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has determined and recommends that upon the filing of the appropriate petition with the City Clerk’s office, that the City Clerk give notice of the hearing as required by law and that the City Council pass an ordinance establishing this Street Improvement District according to the laws of the State of Arkansas.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that based upon the vote of the City Council that the findings and determinations of the Committee shall be and are hereby adopted by the City of Jonesboro and that upon filing the appropriate petition that the City Clerk shall give notice as required by law in order to pursue the establishment of a Street Improvement District to be known as Casey Springs Road Improvement District No.3 for the designated area in accordance with A.C.A.§14-322-101 et seq., and other applicable laws of the State of Arkansas.
