MAYOR’S OFFICE
Appointment to the Jonesboro/Craighead Library Board : Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Farmer to recommend to the full City Council the Mayor’s recommendation to appointment Mr. Mike Johnson to the Library Board. It was explained they would need to prepare a resolution and place it on the September 19, 2006 agenda. All voted aye.
Revised Ordinance - Establishing City Council membership on certain city boards and commissions: Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to recommend to the full city council a revision to the ordinance already on the September 5th City Council agenda. It was explained that the original ordinance listed several Boards and Commissions as having one but not more that two city council members serving, when in the past more than two members have served. City Attorney Crego determined that members of the Jonesboro City Council could serve as voting members of the Airport Commission, and therefore was reflected in the amended version of the ordinance. All voted aye.
Ordinance amending the Jonesboro Code Book regarding City Council seating; Finance Director Appointments; and amending November 1986 to November 1996 in Section 2.24.02 Entitled Elections: Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Farmer to place this ordinance on the September 19th, 2006 agenda. All voted aye.
Stormwater Manual: Councilman Farmer explained the Stormwater Advisory Committee had worked diligently prior to approving the Stormwater Ordinance, which was approved by reference by the Jonesboro City Council. However, the Stormwater Advisory Committee had never been provided the Stormwater Drainage Manual even though it was adopted by mistake, along with the Stormwater Drainage Ordinance. He explained a moratorium was placed on the enforcement of the ordinance , but suggested they may want to extend the moratorium until the manual could be reviewed and recommended.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
