AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From (I-1) To (R-2) the following described property.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

A part of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 1, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows:

 

Commencing at the Southwest Corner of the said Section 1; thence North 1 13' 45" East 704.0 feet to the point of beginning proper, thence continue North 1°13'45" East 1443.77 feet to the center line of Bridger Creek; thence along creek as follows:  South 35°59'36" East 203.56 feet, South 7°25'22" East 60.16 feet, South 64°33'25" East 32.46, North 73°01'26" East 47.77 feet, North 88°49'11" 1667.98 feet, South 86°55'31" East 78.08 feet, South 87°19'44" East 74.08 feet, North 87°51'59" East 100.08 feet, South 66°46'23" East 243.15 feet, South 77°48'31" East 210.77 feet, South 60°09'30" East 301.90 feet; thence South 1°23'55" West 1171.41 feet; thence West 1051.28 feet; Thence South 1°13'45" West 369.24 feet; thence South 89°26'23" West 60.0 feet; thence North 1°13'45" East 615.0 feet; thence South 89°26'23" West 210.0 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 42.02 acres more or less and being subject to all public and private roads and easements.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
