The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session at 7:00 P.M. July 13, 1972 in the Court Room at City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Ralph King in the absence of Chairman Scott.
MEMBERS PRESENT: King, Morrison, Cooper, Matthews, and Roddy.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Scott, Young, and Adams.
OTHERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene Martz, Mr. Bill Bell, and Mr. Curt Hodges.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Mr. and Mrs. Allen P. O’Brien request rezoning of Block 2 of Flint’s Addition (excluding most of Lot 5) and Block 1 and 2 of Cole’s Subdivision from R-2 to C-2. Mr. David Laser, attorney, appeared to represent the landowners, Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Cooper to APPROVE the request. The vote was taken. The vote was YEA: Morrison, Cooper, and Roddy. NO: Matthews. The motion to APPROVE the request was passed.
Item #2. Jeff and Eula Wagner request approval of a replat of Wagner Subdivision located in the Southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 7, Township 14 North, and Range 4 East. A motion was made by Mr. Roddy and seconded by Mr. Cooper to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Burt Pruitt requests a repast of the south half of Lot 18 and all of Lot 19 of Keich’s Second Addition to the City of Jonesboro, (originally Town of Nettleton). A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the replat. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #4. Mr. Fred Duschl requests approval of a replat of Duschl Acres off of Highway 1 north and being a part of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 16, Township 14 North, and Range 4 East. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #5. J.T. Barr requests final approval of Cedar Heights 3rd Addition surveyed and platted a part of the northeast quarter of Section 17, Township 14 north, range 4 East. A motion was made by Mr. Matthews and seconded by Mr. Morrison to APPROVE the replat of Block F. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #6. H.L. Harlan requests approval of a replat of Lots 2, Block D of Apple Hills Subdivision. Mr. Hubert Harlan, owner, was present to answer questions regarding the development. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Matthews to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #7. Builders of Jonesboro request approval of a replat of Lots 32 and 33, Block 7, East Washington Addition and Block 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 of Patrick’s 3rd Addition, Jonesboro. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #8. J.T. Barr requests preliminary approval of Cedar Heights 3rd Addition surveyed and platted a part o the Northeast quarter of Section 17, Township 14 North, Range 4 East. A motion was made by Mr. Matthews and seconded by Mr. Morrison to give preliminary approval of Blocks G, H, and I of Cedar Heights 3rd Addition. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
