BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:  

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Agricultural (AG-1) the following describe property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION AS SURVEYED: (ENTIRE TRACT):

 

TRACT A: A part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 17, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, To-Wit: From the Northeast corner said Section 17, run south 340.0 feet; then run North 84°16' West 523.0 Feet, Then run South 336.4 feet; Then run South 80°55' East 114.53 feet to the point of beginning; Then continue South 80°55' East 195.17 feet; Then run South 407.5 feet to the North Right of Way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad; Then run along said North Right of Way Line as follows: South 73°10' West 201.35 feet; Then leaving said Right of Way line run North 496.62 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 2.00 acres, less and except a part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 17, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead Co. Ark. To-Wit: From the Northeast corner of said Section 17, run South 622 feet; Then run South 73°18' West 212.08 feet to the Point of Beginning; Then continue South 73°18' West 58.92 feet; Then run North 35.98 feet; Then run South 80°55' East 57.15 feet; Then run South 10.02 feet to the Point of Beginning, being 1235 square feet, more or less.

 

TRACT B: A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 17, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin 702 feet North of the Point of intersection of the North Line of the Missouri Pacific railroad Right of Way with the West Right of Way line of Caraway Road, which Point is 340 feet South of the North line of said Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; Thence run South along the west line of Caraway Road 282 feet; Thence run Southwesterly parallel with said railroad Right of Way line 271 feet; Thence run North 360 feet; Thence run East 271 feet, more or less to the Point of Beginning, containing 2 acres, more or less.

 

TRACT C: A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 17, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Point of Intersection of the North line of the Missouri Railroad Right of Way with the West Right of way line of Caraway Road; Thence run West along said Railroad Right of Way line 210 feet; Thence run North parallel with the West Right of Way line of Caraway Road 420 feet, Thence run East parallel with said Railroad Right of Way line 210 feet; Thence run South along said West Right of Way line of Caraway Road 420 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 2 acres more or less.

 

SECTION 2   It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
