AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT, DATED JANUARY 14, 1983; PROVIDING FOR A ZONING CLASSIFICATION FOR SAID LANDS, ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 1; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter described was duly filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, at Jonesboro, Arkansas, on the 13th day of December, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by the owners of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, an Order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the County Court on the 14th day of January, 1983, at which hearing it was duly found and declared that said petition for annexation was right and proper and that such lands hereinafter described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, whereupon an order of Annexation was made and entered; and,
WHERAS, thirty days have expired since the Order of Annexation dated January 14, 1983, was entered an no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The territory and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, by Order of the County Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, dated January 14, 1983, be and they are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be deemed and taken to be a part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The lands and territory hereby annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, are more particularly described as follows:
TRACT ONE: A part of the Southwest Quarter, Northwest Quarter, Section 24, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Quarter Corner, Section 23 & 24, aforesaid; thence North 89° 44’ East 465.0 feet, to the point of beginning proper; thence North 1° 01’ East 200.5 feet; thence South 89°44’ West 122.0 feet, to the East line of Scenic Hills Subdivision, First Addition, Revised; thence North 0° 52’30” East 409.4 feet, along said scenic Hill subdivision; thence North 89°51’ East 966.2 feet, to the West Line of West-view Acres Subdivision; thence South 1° 01’ West 347.8 feet along said West-view Acres Subdivision; thence South 89° 44’ West 420.9 feet; thence South 1°03’ West 260.0 feet to the South Line of NW ¼ of Section 24, T14N, R3E; thence South 89°44’ West 422.0 feet, along said South Line of NE ¼ of Section 24, T14N, R3E to the point of beginning proper, containing 10.419 acres, and being subject to a 41 foot road easement across the South Side of Tract.
TRACT TWO: A part of the Southwest Quarter, Northwest Quarter, Section 24, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Quarter corner, Section 23 and 24, aforesaid, thence North 89°44’ East 887.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North 1°03’ East 260.0 feet; thence North 89°44’ East 154.0 feet; thence South 1°03’ West 260.0 feet; thence South 89°44’ West 154.0 feet to point of beginning proper, subject to 30 feet road easement along South side thereof.
TRACT THREE: A part of the Southwest Quarter, Northwest Quarter, Section 24, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: commending at the Quarter corner, Section 23 and 24, aforesaid, thence North 89°44’ East 1041.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence North 1°03’ East 260.0 feet; thence North 89°44’ East 266.9 feet; thence South 1°01’ West 60.0 feet; thence South 89°44’ West 142.5 feet; thence South 1°03’ West 200.0 feet; thence South 89°44’ West 125.0 feet to the point of beginning proper, subject to 30 feet road easements off the South side thereof.
Section 3: The zoning classification of the land so annexed as Tract One shall be R-1; Tract Two R-2; and Tract Three C-4.
Section 4: The lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro and hereby accepted by the City are assigned and attached to Ward 1.
