The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in Executive Session on Monday, April 21, 1969 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Kenward, Jarrett, Ulmer, King, Lane, Spurlock, Griffin.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Scott.
Item for business were as follows:
Item #1. A motion was made by Mr. ______ to rezone from R-1 to I-2 in accordance with the legal description, less and except a part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, now being more particularly described as beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, thence north along the wets boundary line of this quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence East along a line parallel to the South Boundary line of this Quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence South on a line parallel to the West Boundary line of this Quarter section, 660 feet to a point; thence West along the South Boundary line of this quarter section, 660 feet to the place of beginning; containing, in said exception 10 acres, more or less. Motion was seconded by Mr. King. Motion passed.
Item #2. A variance on the East 60 feet of Lot 2 in Stonefield and Berger’s Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. Ulmer that we approve the variance of the lot and approve the issuing of a building permit, subject to the submission and approval of a plat. Motion was seconded by Mr. King. Motion passed.
Item #3. Replat of University Heights Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. Lane to approve the replat. Motion was seconded by Mr. Jarrett. Motion passed.
Item #4. Replat of Lot 6 of Hazelwood Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. Lane Motion was seconded by Mr. Griffin. Motion passed.
Item #5. Replat for rezoning from R-1 to C-3, Lot 7, Block 8 of Ridgecrest Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas, lands owned by B.B. Vance and Sons. A motion was made by Mr. Kenward that they rezone Lot 7, Block 8, less and except the Southwestern 48.7 feet, from R-1 to C-3. Motion was seconded by Mr. Griffin. Mr. Lane was opposed. Motion passed.
Item #6. A letter and pictures were received from Mr. John C. Williams requesting clarification for zoning on the property located at 212 East Nettleton Avenue. They wish to acquire this property for operation of a catering business. A motion was made to write a letter to Mr. Williams stating as we interpret R-2 zoning, his catering business falls into the proper zoning. Motion was made by Mr. _____ and seconded by Mr. Kenward. Mr. Ulmer was opposed. Motion passed.
An additional Executive Session was slated for Monday night April 28, 1969 7:30 P.M. at the City Water and Light Co.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
