AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11-8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS INCREASING THE INSPECTION FEES FOR THE INSPECTION OF CONSUMER’S PIPING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Section 11-8 is hereby amended by increasing the now existing fees charged for inspection. Such fee schedule shall be amended as follows:
1. The fees for inspection of consumer’s piping shall be $1.50 for 1-4 outlets, 5 outlets and above shall be $.50 per outlet.
2. Gas pressure inspection--$2.00 each.
3. Gas water heaters-$2.00.
4. Unit heaters-$2.00
5. Wall heaters--$2.00.
6. Floor furnaces--$2.00
7. Gas appliances vented (40,000 BTU and above)--$2.00 each.
8. Warm air furnaces, (First 100.000 BTU, $2.00-each additional 100,000 BTU of fraction thereof, $1.00).
9. Boilers, (First 100,000 BTU, $2.00-- each additional 100,000 BTU or fraction thereof, $1.00).
10. Permit Issuance Fee, Residential $2.00-Commercial Industrial, Apartments;
(a) Over 2 units--$4.00
(b) The permit issuance fee will be assessed only once on each permit issued regardless of whether the permit is issued for all plumbing or all gas or a combination of both.
(c) The fees for inspecting used appliances that are to be offered for sale shall be $1.50 for the first appliance and $.25 for each additional appliance.
(d) Any and all fees shall be paid by the person to whom the permit is issued.
(e) An additional fee of $2.00 shall be charged for each additional trip on the part of the plumbing inspector, caused by the negligence of those performing work under a permit.
Section 2: All ordinances and or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found and declared by the city council that this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
