Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, May 10, 1973 in the Court Room at City Hall at 7:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Ralph Morrison in the absence of Mr. A.E. Scott, Jr.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Adams, Morrison, Cooper, Roddy, and Haggenmacher.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Scott, Young, Matthews, and Mardis.
OTHERS PRESENT: Mr. Larry Fugate and Mr. Bill Bell.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Fowler and Abercombie request a rezoning from R-1 to C-3 property located just north of the Children’s Colony being a part of the North half of the northwest quarter of Section 4, Township 13 North, Range 4 East. A motion was made by Mr. Haggenmacher and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken. The vote was YEA: Haggenmacher, Adams, Morrison, and Roddy. PASS: Cooper. The motion to APPROVE the request was passed.
Item #2. Bill Cole requests a replat of Lots 31 and 32 and the west one half of Lots 29 and 30 in Block A of Sigler’s College Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas into one lot. This property is located just off Stone Street and shall be hereafter referred to as Lot 1 of Cole’s replat of Block A of Sigler’s College Addition to Jonesboro. A motion was made by Mr. Roddy and seconded by Mr. Adams to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Guaranty, Inc. requests a replat of Lots 3 and 4 of Block K of Sigler’s College Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. This property is located between Caraway and Stone Street immediately north of King Avenue. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #4. Guaranty, Inc. requests a replat of Lots 14-23, Block 3 of East Washington Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. This property is located between McAdams and Borgman immediately south of Hope Street. A motion was made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Cooper to APPROVE the request subject to the word easement being changed to dedication on the plat. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #5. Mr. Joe Rankin requests preliminary approval of Rankin’s Oak Forest 2nd Addition. This property consists of 12.38 acres and is just west of the existing Rankin’s 1st Addition and north of Timber Trails. A motion as made by Mr. Roddy and seconded by Mr. Adams to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #6. Change meeting time to 7:30 P.M., rather than 7:00 P.M. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Adams to change the time of the regular meeting to 7:30 P.M. for the summer months; or until changed again this fall. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 P.M.
