AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential One (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

 

Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (11.72 acres), and part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (1.08 Acres), Both in Section 15, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the Southeast corner of Section 15, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; thence South 89°48'26" west along the South line of Section 15, Aforesaid, 648.09 feet to the west right-of-way line of United States Highway #63.  The Point of Beginning Proper; Thence continue along said south line as follows:  South 89°48'26" West 672.74 feet, South 89°48'16" West 172.37 feet; Thence North 18°45'38" East 744.38 feet; Thence North 27°31'03" West 101.39 feet; thence North 1°33'51" East 448.16 feet; Thence North 23°10'00" East 62.02 feet to the west Right-of-Way line of United States Highway #63; Thence along said West Right-of-Way Line as follows:  South 55°11'28" East 183.65 Feet, South 17°22'19" East 354.07 feet, South 13°04'57" East 601.83 feet, South 70°12'20" East 172.24 feet, South 16°16'29" East 218.111 feet to the Point of Beginning proper, containing 11.72 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
