AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2008 ANNUAL BUDGET AND THE PAY PLAN FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO CHANGE THE POSITION OF GIS SPECIALISTS TO A GIS COORDINATOR (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS DENIED ON JULY 1, 2008)

WHEREAS, Ordinance Number ORD-08:008 adopted the 2008 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, Resolution Number 2004:2 adopted the City Pay Plan; and
WHEREAS, Human Resources has received agreement from Condrey and Associates to establish a GIS Coordinator at a grade 21
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Committee, to ensure sufficient staffing in the area of GIS, that the position of GIS Specialist be changed to a GIS Coordinator;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The 2008 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended by changing the GIS coordinator grade 16 to a GIS Coordinator grade 21 step 5.

SECTION 2: The GIS Coordinator will be moved under the Public Works Department so they can coordinate with Engineering, County officials, local utility company and Information Systems.
SECTION 3: For the financial and operational continuity of the City of Jonesboro, it is hereby found and declared that this resolution shall take effect after its passage and approval.
