AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.  954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.  954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows: From Residential Two (R-2) to Commercial Three (C-3) for the property described as follows: ( J.  W.  Werner)                                                                                                                                                                          

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

A part of the South Half of the Southeast Quarter (S ½. SE 1/4 ) of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East of the 5th Principal Meridian in Craighead County, Arkansas,  more particularly described as follows:

 

From the Southwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21, thence East some 1,320 feet, more or less, along the south line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21 to a  point, thence North 60 feet to a point on the northerly right-of-way of Highland Drive (Arkansas Highway 18, the Point of Beginning; Continue thence North 600 feet, more or less, along a ling parallel to the west line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21 to a point, thence West 660 feet, more or less, along a ling parallel to the south line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 21 to a point, thence North 660 feet, more or less, along aline parallel to the west line of the Southeast Quarter of said   Section 21 to a point on the south line of Block B of the Gwyndale Sub-division to the City of Jonesboro, thence east some 1,250 feet, more or less, along the south line of said Gwyndale  Subdivision and along the south line of Block F of the Belle Meade Addition to the City of Jonesboro to a point in the center of turtle Creek, thence S26° 38' E some 1,430 feet, more or less, along the centerline of said Turtle Creek   to a point on the northerly right-of-way of Highland Drive (Arkansas Highway 18), thence  S 88° 53' 31" W some 1,220 feet, more or less, along said right-of-way to the Point of Beginning, containing some 37 acres, more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, an emergency exists and that Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
