RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO APPROVE ASSESSMENTS AS LEVIED BY THE NORTH CARAWAY ROAD STREET IMRPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2

WHEREAS, the North Caraway Road Street Improvement District No. 2 was established by Ordinance No. 2197; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has caused an assessment to be made against each lot or parcel or real property within the district based upon the cost of the improvements to be made and the benefits accruing to each lot and parcel of real property; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that real property within the district that does not adjoin North Caraway Road shall be assessed the amount of $300 per parcel and that real property within the district which adjoins North Caraway Road shall be assessed the amount of $6.83 per frontal footage; and

 

WHEREAS, the following owners of real property within the district have either paid in full their proposed assessments to the Board of Commissioners or they have committed to paying their assessments in one lump sum payment:

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that assessments be levied against each of the following parcels of real property within the district to be paid in five equal annual installments with interest per annum at the rate of 12%.  The total principal amount for each lot or parcel of real property is set forth as follows:

 

1. Paul Burge- Lot 4, Block B, Sylvan Hills Estates, 3rd Addition- $300.00;

2. George W. Nichols- A part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Northwest corner of Lot 13, Sylvan Hills Estates as recorded in Book 123, page 223 in the office of the Circuit Court Clerk Craighead County, Jonesboro, Arkansas; thence North 2 degrees 53’ West 93.0 feet to the Northwesterly right of way line of Greensboro Road (30 feet from centerline of Greensboro Road); thence North 46 degrees  31’ 30” East 77.59 feet along said right of way line; thence South 31 degree 51’ 55” East 111.10 feet to the North line of said Lot 13; thence South 64 degrees 50’ 28” West along said North line 121.84 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 0.22 acre, more or less - $300.00;

WHEREAS, upon review of the initial petition filed with the City Clerk, it is determined that the same contains the signatures of the majority in value of the real property owners within the North Caraway Road Street Improvement District No. 1.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that upon vote of the City Council that the assessments to be levied as determined by the Board of Commissioners of the North Caraway Road Street Improvement District No. 1 as set forth hereinabove should be and is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansans.
