RESOLUTION TO LEVY A 1 MILL TAX ON ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE FIREMAN’S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND

WHEREAS, the fully organized, qualified, constituted and acting Board of Trustees of the Fireman’s Pension and Relief Fund of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, have enacted and caused to be certified to the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, a Resolution finding that the sum of $_______, is necessary to discharge the functions of said Board during the year 1980, and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth hereby approve said aforementioned Resolution and Certificate, and
WHERAS, the City Council doth find and declare that the total assessed valuation of property both real and personal, within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is the sum of $_____________, and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth find that in order to raise said sum of $_____________, it is necessary to levy a tax of one mill per dollar of assessed valuation and that the amount to be said Board of Trustees.
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED THEREFORE, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
(1) That there be, and there is hereby levied on all real and personal property, within the City of Jonesboro, a tax of one mill on each dollar of assessed valuation of all real and personal property lying and situated within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas for the year 1979 to be collected in the year 19810, and that the funds realized therefrom be devoted to the purpose set out in the Fireman’s Pension and Relief Acts and Ordinance.
(2) That the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas be and he is hereby authorized and directed to extend said tax herein described upon the tax books and that the same be collected in the same manner as other property taxes are collected.
(3) That the City Clerk is hereby directed to spread this resolution upon the Minute Book of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and to certify a copy of the same to the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas.
