III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

*Minutes for the April 19, 2023 Stormwater Management Board Meeting

Motion to approve the minutes was made by Steiling and seconded by Bevill. The minutes were unanimously approved.

IV. NEW BUSINESS

Gillis stated that the variance request for the property located at 5408 Southwest Drive was to allow the detention pond to be less than the required ten (10) feet from the abutting property line. Jason with Davidson Engineering stated this development utilizes an odd shaped parcel and therefore imposes limitations on shifting the development to accommodate more detention space. Underground detention is not feasible. The retaining wall will reduce runoff. The relocation of the detention pond would reduce traffic movement. He also stated that he has a letter from the adjoining property owner supporting the detention pond location. The adjoining property is not suitable for construction due to an existing utility easement.

A motion was made to grant the variance by Porter and seconded by Bevill. All voted Aye. The variance was granted.

V. OLD BUSINESS

Light gave the Board and update on the Alliance property. The developer is looking at doing a redesign along the frontage to put in a service road to negate enclosing the ditch. ArDOT is in a agreement. The City is waiting to see the plans. He stated things are moving forward in a positive direction.
