Metropolitan Area Planning Commission Minutes
April 10, 1975
 
The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, April 10, 1975 in the Court Room at City Hall.
 
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. A.E. Scott, Jr.
 
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Morrison, Adams, Cooper, Roddy, Smith, Wheeless and Ball.
 
MEMBERS ABSENT: McDaniel
 
Item #1.  Junior Haggenmacher requests a rezoning of the following described property from Residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3).  This property is described as follows: Lot 1 of the Guy A.  Pardew Subdivision of a part of the West Half of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East.  The general location of this property is described as follows:  On the north side of East Nettleton Avenue commencing approximately 80 feet west of Pardew Street.  A motion was made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Wheeless to rezone Lot No. 1 of the above described property from R-3 to C-4 with the proper street right of ways being dedicated.  The vote was YEA: Roddy, Smith, Adams, and Wheeless.  NO: Morrison.  PASS: Cooper and Ball.  The motion to rezone the property was passed.  
 
Item #2.  Bert Johnson requests final approval of the Bert Johnson First Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas.  This addition consists of Lots 1 and 2 located at 2002 and 2006 Greenwood Street, Jonesboro.  A motion was made by Mr. Roddy and seconded by Mr. Ball to APPROVE the request.  A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
 
Item #3.  P.F. Service Corporation and Home Service Corporation requests final approval of a replat of Lots 14, 15, and 15, Block C, Marlo Acres Sixth Addition into Lots 14 and 16.  Subject request entails eliminating Lot 15 and the relocation of a 5' utility easement.  Subject property is located on the north side of Stroud Street, Block C, Marlo Acres 6th Addition.  A motion was made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request.  A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
 
Item #4.  J.A. Lamberth requests final approval of the J.A. Lamberth Subdivision.  Preliminary approval of said subdivision was granted with stipulations by the MAPC on the 12th of September, 1974.  General location of said subdivision is as follows: East of the Mays Addition and north of the Watkins Subdivision on the north side of the Old Greensboro Road.  A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Roddy to TABLE a decision on this property to give the members time to study the proposed land use first hand.  A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
 
Item #5.  Annexations:
 
1.       Candlewood Estates Subdivision located on the south side of Neely Road between Christian Creek and Quail Drive containing approximately 97 acres.
It is recommended by the Planning Commission that this received approval with the stipulation that the developer by responsible for developing and surfacing one half of Neely Road adjacent to this parcel.
2.      Parks First Southhaven.  Planning Commission recommended approval.  
3.      Rankin's Oak Forest Third Addition.  Planning Commission recommended approval.
