RESOLUTION DIRECTING PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY UNDER ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, did on the 4th day of October, 1965, pass ordinance No.1123 which requires, amount other things, that the City Council adopt a resolution specifically for the purpose of purchasing property, the payment of which shall come from the capital improvement funds, and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Advisory Commission on September 2, 1965, submitted its report and recommendation wherein the Traffic Advisory Commission recommended the purchase of the Old Roller Mill Property located in the City of Jonesboro, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on October 4, 1965, adopt a Resolution directing purchase of certain properties pursuant to the report of the Traffic Advisory Commission and the Old Roller Mill property was not included in this Resolution. It was the intent of the City Council members that the Roller Mill property should be included in the Resolution of October 4, 1965, and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that under the provisions of ordinance 1123, the City of Jonesboro is authorized to purchase and issue capital notes for the following property. Upon purchase being completed, the Mayor and City Clerk shall file with the Recorder of Craighead County a certificate accurately describing the tract and acknowledging real estate lien or mortgage securing notes described in ordinance 1123. This resolution shall be retroactive and shall constitute the authority for the purchase of the following described property pursuant to ordinance 1123:
The Old Roller Mill Property located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, more accurately described as:
Beginning at the Southeast Corner of Block 13 of Flint’s Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; thence North on the West line of Union Street 548 feet to existing North line of Burke Avenue; thence West along aforesaid North line of Burke Avenue 61.2 feet to point of beginning proper; thence continue West 138.8 feet; thence North 109.5 feet; thence Northeasterly along an 8° 38’ curve to right 156.3 feet; thence East 181.2 feet to West line of Union Street; thence South along West line of Union Street 198.3 feet; thence West 61.2 feet; thence South 60.4 feet to point of beginning proper. The above described tract being a part of Lots 4, 5 and 6 of Block 13 of Flint’s Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
RESOLVED, FURTHER that the City Clerk shall pencil in on the margin of the official records a notation of the passage of this resolution on the entries of October 4, 1965. The Resolution shall be retroactive to October 4, 1965.
