ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the following described lands are currently zoned “R-1” residential use classification:
All that part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, lying East of Missouri Pacific Railroad and South of Us Highway No. 63 Right Of Way and being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 34; thence South 00°49’28” West 74.60 feet to the South right of way line of Highway No. 63, the point of beginning proper; thence South 00°49’28” West 1231.90 feet; thence North 89°56’55” West 1328.27 feet; thence North 00°11’33” East 160.78 feet to the East right of way line of Missouri Pacific Railroad; thence with a curve turning to the right with an arc length of 817.20° with a radius of 5589.69° along said railroad right of way, thence North 33°25’25” East 379.98 feet along said railroad right of way to the South right of way line of US Highway No. 63; thence North 88°36’39” East 574.43 feet along said highway right of way; thence North 81°07’22” East 166.22 feet along highway right of way to the point of beginning, having an area of 1307820.03 square feet, 30.023 acres more of less and being subject to all public and private roads and easement.
WHEREAS, the above described lands are owned by Gary Meadows Construction, Inc; and
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has recommended that said lands be rezoned to the I-2 industrial use classification; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that all applicable laws of the State of Arkansas and of the City of Jonesboro have been complied with in presenting this ordinance to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, codified as Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code, should be, and it hereby is amended so that the lands hereinabove described are zoned as the “I-2” industrial use classification.
SECTION 2: All ordinance and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the official zoning district boundary map of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, insofar as it relates to the lands described hereinabove so that the zoning classification of the said lands shall be in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance.
