Discussion was held regarding the following intersections: Grant & Bernard, Airport & Aggie, and Rains & Highland. It was determined that the traffic study would help solve issues of safety while addressing concerns of traffic flow.
DRAINAGE ORDINANCE & MANUAL
It was explained the City was waiting until the State had determined what their requirements are. Mr. Batten explained the State has issued their permit requirements this week and Fisher and Arnold have 90 days to respond. Mr. Bernie Auld stressed the importance of having the ordinance and manual coincide.
DRAINAGE CONTRACT RATES - AMENDMENT
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Dover to allow for negotiations in the Carter Burgess contract by Mayor Brodell and Public Works Director, Claude Martin regarding funding for analysis and pipe inventory within the pilot study area. It was explained analysis is only used when there is a problem, and it was suggested that ½ of the money set aside for analysis be allotted for pipe inventory. All voted aye.
SANITATION
Sanitation Truck - Councilman Dover moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to accept the low bid meeting bid specifications for General Truck #1, for a Heil Python Side Loader, 24 yard Sanitation Truck, including the extended warranty ($4,000). Mr. Leonard explained the reason he was recommending the Heil over a Bridgeport Ranger was because the Heil had a 9ft reach, compared to an 8 ft. reach of the Bridgeport Ranger. It was explained the Bridgeport Ranger showed a lower bid, but included noted exceptions that did not meet bid specifications, making the Heil the lower bid. All voted aye.
Containers - Councilman Street moved, seconded by Councilman Dover to accept the low bid meeting bid specifications of Scruggs Equipment for 720 (95) Gallon Roll Out Carts. All voted aye.
Chipper Truck - Mr. Leonard stated the bids he received were both over $50,000 making them over budget, and recommended rebidding.
LANDFILL
Request - Councilman Moore explained he had requested the Mayor to provide a cost comparison between the developments of the new landfill site opposed to a site in proximity of Craighead Solid Waste. He asked Mr. Aubrey Scott to get with Mayor Brodell and provided this information at the next Public Works Committee meeting. It was explained transportation needed to be part of the comparison.

Councilman Farmer expressed concern over the Huntington Building and the Haworth Room not being ADA compliant, and explained he had checked with Human Resource Director, Suzanne Hackney who stated it was part of the ADA settlement, and must be in compliance by September.
