The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., February 8, 1973 in the Court Room at City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Aubrey Scott.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Adams, Morrison, Cooper, King, Roddy and Matthews.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Joe Clay Young and Mr. House.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Mr. and Mrs. Allen D. O'Brien request a rezoning from R-2 to C-2 of all property bounded by Flint on the east, Burke on the north, with the exception of the corner of Burke and Culberhouse, which is zone I-1, Culberhouse on the west and Huntington on the south. A motion was made by Mr. Matthews and seconded by Mr. Adams to DISAPPROVE the request. A vote was taken. The vote was YEA: Adams, Morrison, Cooper, Roddy, and Matthews. NO: King. The motion to DISAPPROVE the request was passed.
Item #2. Neil J. Stallings requests a rezoning from R-2 to C-3. The property involved is the Herbie Stallings Addition to the City of Jonesboro and includes the north 193.8 feet of Lot 5 of Cobb and Lee's Survey, Lot 1 and 4 of Stallings 4th Addition, and Lots 1 and 4 of Stallings 2nd Addition and Lots 1 and 2 of Block A of Stallings 5th Addition and Lots 1 through 8 of Block B of Stallings 5th Addition. A motion was made by Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Cooper to APPROVE the request subject to the dedication of proper right of way on Matthews Extended (82ft.). A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Wallace Fowler requests approval of Lots 1 and 2 of KFC Addition. This lot is located at 139 Southwest Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #4. Pardew Real Estate requests approval of Pardew's North Subdivision 3rd Addition being a replat of Lot 2 of Dacus Acres. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Roddy to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken. The vote was YEA: Morrison, Cooper, King, Roddy, and Matthews; PASS: Adams. The motion was passed.
Item #5. Builders of Jonesboro request approval of a plat of Lot A of LaGrone replat of part of Block 17 of Patrick's Third Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. There was not action required on this item as it did not comply with minimum R-2 lot size.
Item #6. Dr. Klaras B. Rose requests approval of a replat of the south 100.0 feet of Lots 7 and 8 of Allen Subdivision into Lot A and to be known as the Springle First Replat of a part of Allen Subdivision to Jonesboro. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Adams to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
