IV. NEW BUSINESS

Gibson informed the Board that the City is applying for another Flood Mitigation Grant for the purchase and demolition of four structures. The application is due November 18th. No action by the Board is required to apply for the grant.

Light gave the Board on update on 2020 funding for drainage improvements. The proposed 2020 budget includes the following projects: continuation of the operation and maintenance of the streamgages with USGS, the master planning study with the Corps of Engineers, and $200,000 for city-wide miscellaneous drainage projects. The Board discussed various projects and funding sources. Light stated the City is looking at applying for a grant that would provide approximately $50,000 towards erosion control. The only downside to this grant is the short time frame associated with it. The City will do further research to determine if is feasible given the time restrains.

V. OLD BUSINESS

Gibson updated the Board on the status of the current Flood Mitigation Grant. Three of the four structures have been torn down. The last property has been closed and it will be torn down in January 2020. Originally, the grant was to purchase and demo five properties but the City was unable to negotiate one of the properties.
