IV. NEW BUSINESS

Wyatt introduction Hayden Partee from First Community Bank. He stated that he has submitted his name for consideration for the Board.

Carlos Wood is the engineer for the developer asking for the variance. Wood stated the variance is to not install drainage pipe in the ditch along Highway 18. The developer submitted for a permit for the enclosing of the ditch to ArDOT. ArDOT will not allow pipe along the length of the ditch. They are working with Craig and the City to allow pipe under the driveway. Wyatt stated ArDOT’s concern with enclosing the ditch is the ponding and migration of water onto the highway.

Gillis ask if the ordinance could be changed for properties along State routes since ArDOT doesn’t want enclosed ditches. Light stated the City is working with ArDOT on a map of areas that don’t want ditches to be enclosed. They don’t want to enclose if there is no curb and gutter.

Gillis made a motion to grant the variance to not enclose the ditch along the property located at 5319 E. Highland Drive. Coleman seconded. All vote Aye.

Light stated there will be sidewalk on private property on the back side of the ROW.

V. OLD BUSINESS

VI. OTHER COMMUNICATIONS

Light stated the City is working on a grant application through ARNC for non-competitive repetitive loss structure buyouts. The City has purchased eight structures in the past. The list the City is getting together has 20 - 23 repetitive loss structures.
