AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND  FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.  954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (RZ 90-9 ) by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) the following described property:  E. Side of S. Caraway Rd., N. of Hwy 1 (M D R Cartage, Inc.)

 

Begin at the Southwest corner of the SW 1/4, NW 1/4 of Section 9, T13N, R4E; thence North 0°55' East along the Section Line 2073. Feet; thence continue North 946.5 feet; thence South 89°53' East along an existing property line fence 1166.2 feet to an existing fence; thence South 14°26' West along said fence 79.3 feet to the Westerly right-of-way line of Arkansas State Highway #1; thence along said right-of-way line as follows: South 31°14' West 394 feet; South 33°08' West 621.3 feet to an existing fence; thence continue Southwesterly  along  said  right-of-way  line  246.6 feet,  more or less, to a point on the South line of the SW 1/4, NW 1/4; thence run west along said South line of the SW 1/4, NW 1/4, 494.2 feet, more of less, to the Southwest corner of the SW 1/4, NW 1/4 of said Section 9, T13N, R4E, which is the point of beginning, containing 22.25 acres, more or less also known as M D R. 1st  Addition.                     

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
