AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED SEPTEMBER 8, 1980; PROVIDING FOR A ZONING CLASSIFICATION FOR SAID LANDS, ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereinafter described was duly filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas at Jonesboro, Arkansas on the 25th day of July, 1980; and,
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by the owners of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, an Order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the County Court on the 8th day of September, 1980, at which hearing it was duly found and declared that said petition for annexation was right and proper and that such lands hereinafter described should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, whereupon, an Order of Annexation was made and entered; and,
WHEREAS, thirty days have expired since the Order of Annexation dated September 8, 1980 was entered and no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: The territory and lands annexed to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas by Order of the County Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas dated September 8, 1980, be and they are hereby accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be deemed and taken to be a part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The lands and territory hereby annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas are more particularly described as follows:
Part of the Southwest Quarter Northeast Quarter Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest Corner of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter Southeast Quarter said Section 26; thence North 1°14’ East along the East line said SW ¼ NE ¼ Section 26, a distance of 566.0 feet to the Northeast Corner Lot 6, Block A. Rankin’s Oak Forest Subdivision 4th Addition; thence continue North 1°14’ East 454.8 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence along the Northerly line of Rankin’s Oak Forest 5th Addition, Revised as follows: South 70°15’ West 445.8 feet, North 18°50’ West 99.4 feet, North 84°14’ West 372.9 feet, North 21°47’ West 279.7 feet, North 72°11’ West 294.2 feet to the centerline Arkansas Highway #226 (Wood Springs Road); thence North 20°09’ East 191.7 feet; thence along a curve to the left with a radius of 569.78 feet for a distance of 124.38 feet; thence North 89°40’ East 1099.2 feet; thence South 1°14’ West 628.68 feet to the point of beginning proper and containing, in all, 16.06 acres, more or less.
Section 3: The zoning classification of the land so annexed shall be R-1.
Section 4: The lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro and hereby accepted by the City are assigned and attached to Ward 4.
