IV. NEW BUSINESS

Light introduced Shane Wood and Ethan Clark from ArDOT to talk about projects they have going on in Jonesboro and how they will affect the city. Clark’s office oversees the projects in Jonesboro.

The following projects were discussed. I have attached the list of projects that were discussed with detailed information and updates for each project.

Wood said the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive extension is approximately 70% complete. The completion date has been pushed back due to utility issues. The new completion date is late 2028.

The Airport Road Overpass is approximately 78% complete and is scheduled to be completed by June 2026.

The Hwy. 351 North and South Intersection Improvements are 39% completed and are moving along as scheduled. The estimated completion date is September 2027.

The Hwy. 49/Parker Road Intersection Improvements are just getting started and are approximately 9% complete.

The utility work for the Harrisburg Road widening is ongoing. Earthwork is anticipated to begin in late spring/early summer.

The Hwy. 351 Connector (Aggie Road) has not been awarded. The plans are 50 - 60% complete. Currently, the let date is mid to late summer of 2027. This date is subject to change.

V. OLD BUSINESS

VI. OTHER COMMUNICATIONS

Wood stated that the ribbon cutting for ArDOT’s new Regional Design Office will be April 3rd. He stated that the office will bring together design and field work. The office will be managed by Jocie Baker.

Wood also stated that one of the biggest things is a connector study between Jonesboro and Osceola. The range for completion is 5 - 10 years.

Wyatt stated that these projects are having a great economic impact on Jonesboro. Jonesboro is very fortunate to have a commissioner living in Jonesboro.

Merideth introduced Darryl Dromgoole, who will replace her on the Board. Merideth is retiring later in the year.

Light stated there were some issues with the south side of the clover leaf with people being rear ended. This issue was sent to Little Rock. He was told there was a potential solution, but he had not heard what it was. Clark will look into it and get back with Light.

There is a traffic signal going in at Christian Valley and Hwy. 49.

Wyatt asked Shane Wood to invite Jocie Baker to the next meeting to give an update on ArDOT projects she is working on.

VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS

VIII. ADJOURNMENT

Porter made a motion for adjournment. Bevill seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:52 a.m.
