A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS TO PROVIDE RADIO EQUIPMENT, DISPATCH RADIO CONSOLES, NECESSARY SUPPORTING ACCESSORIES, INSTALLATION AND ASSOCIATED SERVICES FOR THE JONESBORO E-911 CENTER AS OUTLINED IN SOURCEWELL CONTRACT 0300425-MOTS PS-000203850

WHEREAS, on 10/21/2025 the Public Safety Center Task Force endorsed constructing an E-911 / Real-Time Crime Center on the 400 block of West Washington Avenue; and WHEREAS, a critical component of an E-911 dispatch center is modern radio equipment to ensure reliable and clear radio communication with first responders in the field; and
WHEREAS, equipment to be purchased in the proposed $2,170,000 agreement includes:
8 AXS Console Positions
1 180 Foot Microware Backhaul (Radio Tower)
Installation, Configuration and Optimization of PSAP
WHEREAS, existing equipment in use at the current E-911 center will be transferred where applicable and end-of-life equipment will be sold when possible; and
WHEREAS, significant research has been conducted, and Motorola Solutions was the only entity to provide a detailed proposal and are immediately fully compatible with the Arkansas Wireless Information Network (AWIN); and
WHEREAS, Motorola Solutions is an approved Sourcewell Contractor # 030425-MOT;
WHEREAS, funding for the execution of the contract shall come from the Capital Improvement Revenue Bond budget and reimbursement will be applied, where applicable, by a congressionally approved FY2025 Federal THUD appropriation and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 - The City of Jonesboro agrees to enter into an agreement with Motorola Solutions detailed in PS-000203850.
Section 2 -The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the Jonesboro City Council to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
