AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT DATED JUNE 20, 1977; ASSIGNING SAID ANNEXED TERRITORY TO WARD 4; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of certain lands to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereinafter described, as duly filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, at Jonesboro, Arkansas, on May 13, 1977; and
WHEREAS, said petition for the annexation of said lands was signed by all of the owners of the acreage to be annexed to the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, an order setting a hearing on said petition was entered, notice was duly published of said hearing, and hearing upon said petition was duly had and held in the County Court on June 20, 1977, at which hearing it was duly found and declared that said petition for annexation was right and proper, and that such lands, hereinafter described, should be annexed to the City of Jonesboro, whereupon an order of annexation was made and entered; and
WHEREAS, thirty (30) days have expired since the order of annexation dated June 20, 1977, and no proceedings to prevent said annexation have been filed in the Circuit Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
Section 1: The territory and lands annexed to the City, Arkansas, by order of the County Court for the Jonesboro District of Craighead County, Arkansas, dated June 20, 1977, be and they are hereby accepted to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be deemed and taken to be a part and parcel of the limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and inhabitants residing therein shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: The lands and territory hereby annexed to and accepted by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, are more particularly described as follows:
Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest Corner of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 26; thence North 1°14’ East along the East line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26 a distance of 566.0 feet to the Northeast Corner of Lot 6, Block A, Rankin’s Oak Forest Subdivision, 4th Addition, and the point of beginning proper; thence along the Northerly line of said 4th Addition as follows: North 88°46’ West 308.4 feet, North 18°50’ West 52.6 feet, South 71°30’ West 194.1 feet, North 18°30’ West 85.0 feet, South 71°30’ West 124.8 feet, North 84°14’ West 229.3 feet, South 30°42’ West 67.7 feet, South 15°42’ West 162.5 feet, North 74°18’ West 389.7 feet to the Northwest Corner of Lot 9, Block D of said 4th Addition and the West line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26; thence North 0°42’ East along said West line 583.1 feet to the centerline of Wood Springs Road (Arkansas 226); thence along said Wood Springs Road as follows: North 38°28’ East 47.1 feet, North 30°32’ East 100.0 feet, North 23°36’ East 77.0 feet, North 20°09 East 62.9 feet; thence South 72°11’ East 294.2 feet; thence South 21°47’ East 279.7 feet; thence South 84°14’ East 372.9 feet; thence South 18° 50’ East 99.4 feet; thence North 70°15’ East 445.8 feet to the East line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26; thence South 1°14’ West among said East line 454.8 feet to the point of beginning proper, and containing 15.89 acres, more or less.
Section 3: The lands and territory annexed to the City of Jonesboro and hereby accepted by the City are hereby assigned and attached to Ward 4, and zoned Residential (R-1).
