V. OLD BUSINESS
Wyatt and Farris had several comments on the Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP). The comments were noted and briefly discussed. Wyatt and Farris provided the marked up copies of the SWMP to Gibson to make the revisions. The updated SWMP will be emailed to the Board for review prior to the next meeting. The Board is ask to review the updated documents and bring in comments to the next meeting. The SWMP is due July 1st. The goal is to have it on the June 4th Public Works Committee meeting.
Light updated the Board on the Flood Mitigation Grant. The East Nettleton property was approved by City Council last night. Four of the five properties have been approved by City Council and one of those has been purchased. One property owner did not want to participate. Light stated city staff will meet with the owners again to discuss the sale of the property. This is a voluntary program and owners must be willing to sell the property. Bryant asked if the property could be used by the Land Bank. Light stated the property will be deed restricted green space.
Light stated the Stormwater Utility Study is essentially complete. He is trying to schedule a meeting with the Mayor and Finance Director to discuss the Stormwater Utility Fee. Light stated the management of the Utility would take a lot of the money. He stated a mileage may be a better option. It is easier to collect and the funds for management of the program can be cut back.
VI. OTHER COMMUNICATIONS
Light stated the Arkansas Soil & Water Education Conference held at ASU in late January was very informative. Farris stated there will be a meeting in June in the Town Center in Fayetteville. He will provide information regarding the event to the Board when it comes available.
Wyatt stated he would like to get a JET bus in July to tour repetative loss areas in the City.
Gibson has scheduled a meeting with ANRC to give a Stormwater 101 presentation at the June meeting.
